When to Edit Lyrics
Common reasons to edit lyrics:- Fix transcription errors
- Correct spelling or punctuation
- Remove unwanted text
- Add missing words
- Change stylistic choices (capitalization, etc.)
Editing in Manual Sync
The easiest way to edit lyrics is in the Manual Sync tool:- Open your project
- Click Manual Sync in the header menu
- Click on any word to select it
- Type to replace the text
- Changes save automatically
Word-by-Word Editing
Change a Word
- Click on the word in the timeline
- The word text appears in the edit field
- Type the new text
- Press Enter or click away to confirm
Delete a Word
- Select the word
- Press Delete or Backspace
- The word is removed from the timeline
Add a Word
- Click where you want to add the word
- Click Add Word
- Type the word text
- Adjust timing as needed
Line Editing
Add a Line Break
- Select the word where you want to break
- Click Split Line or press Enter
- Words after the break move to a new line
Remove a Line Break
- Select the first word of the line you want to merge up
- Click Merge Line
- The line combines with the previous one
Re-syncing After Edits
If you make significant changes, you may want to re-sync:- Go back to the Studio
- Look for a Sync Lyrics option in the menu
- Choose to re-sync with the updated lyrics
Tips for Editing
- Make small, focused changes
- Preview after editing to verify
- Keep a copy of original lyrics if making big changes
- Use the waveform to help place new words correctly
Common Fixes
Repeated Words
If a word appears twice (stuttering or error):- Select one instance
- Delete it
- Extend the remaining word’s duration if needed
Missing Words
If a word was missed in transcription:- Find where it should be in the timeline
- Add a new word
- Adjust the timing to match the audio
Wrong Word
If a word was mis-heard:- Click on the word
- Type the correct text
- The timing stays the same
