Chord notation styles

Transpose and Capo

  • Transpose shifts chord shapes up or down semitones
  • Capo applies capo position for guitar-oriented practice
Use both controls to find the easiest playable version of a song.

Suggested Practice Routine

  1. Run through the full song once to identify hard sections
  2. Repeat only those sections with slower playback
  3. Try 2-3 transpose values and pick your best key
  4. Rehearse from start to finish without stopping
This keeps sessions focused and fun while improving retention.

Tips

  • Start with a simpler notation variant if chords feel too dense
  • Use Grid mode for harmonic analysis and chart-style practice
  • Use Inline mode when you want chord + lyric phrasing together
  • Revisit generated chords after changing arrangement settings
