Trim removes unwanted sections from the start, end, or middle of a project. The original files stay intact — Youka creates a new trimmed version alongside them.

Steps to trim

1

Open the project

Open the karaoke project you want to trim.
2

Open the Trim tool

Go to Edit > Trim.
3

Set the trim region

Drag the left edge of the highlighted region to the start point and the right edge to the end point. The waveform helps you find musical beats.
4

Choose which assets to trim

Select which video, audio model, and subtitles to include in the trimmed version.
5

Preview

Click Play to preview the selection.
6

Apply the trim

Click Trim to create the new version. Progress appears in the Jobs tab.

Fine-tuning the trim

For frame-accurate edits:
  • Enter exact timestamps in the Start and End input fields
  • Use the waveform to align with audio peaks
  • The selected region stays highlighted while you adjust

What gets trimmed

Trimming creates new copies of:
  • The video file
  • All audio stems (vocals, instrumental, backing vocals)
  • The original audio
  • The lyrics alignment, re-timed to match the new start
The original files are preserved. You can always delete the trimmed version and try a different region.

Tips

  • Preview before committing to confirm the cut lands where you expect
  • Use trim to remove long intros, outros, or unwanted middle sections
  • Check the Jobs tab for trimming progress on long songs
