Steps to add a background box

Open the project

Open the karaoke project you want to edit.

Open Subtitle Settings

Go to Style > Subtitle Settings.

Enable the background box

Turn on the Background Box toggle.

Customize the look

Adjust color, opacity, and padding to match your project.

Box settings

  • Color — the fill color of the box (default black)
  • Opacity — transparency from 0% (invisible) to 100% (solid)
  • Padding — space between the text and the box edge

Tips for readability

  • 60–80% opacity gives a modern, semi-transparent look
  • 8–12px of padding gives the text breathing room
  • Match the box color to your video’s color palette for a cohesive feel
