The Layout panel controls the structure of how your lyrics display during playback. Choose from five layout types and fine-tune position, line count, and spacing to suit your use case.

Opening the Layout panel

In the Studio, expand the Layout panel in the sidebar.

Layout types

The default layout. Multiple lines are visible at once, the active line is highlighted, and lines scroll up as the song progresses.Best for: Traditional karaoke venues, sing-along events, and most general-purpose exports.

Lines visible

For the Karaoke and Scrolling layouts, choose how many lines appear on screen at once:
  • 2 lines — Compact view; fewer lines means larger text is easier to read.
  • 4 lines — Standard view; gives singers more anticipation time.
  • More lines — Shows additional context for dense lyric sections.
For large venue screens viewed from a distance, use fewer lines with a larger font size. For phone screens, two lines is usually sufficient.

Vertical position

Choose where on the screen the lyrics appear:
  • Top — Lyrics sit near the top of the frame.
  • Center — Lyrics are vertically centered.
  • Bottom — Lyrics appear at the bottom (the most common position for traditional karaoke).

Anticipation buffer

The anticipation buffer controls how far ahead upcoming lines appear before it is time to sing them. Increase the buffer to give singers more preparation time; decrease it for a tighter, more challenging experience.

Container height

Adjust the total height of the lyrics area on screen. A larger container gives lyrics more vertical space, useful when showing many lines or using larger fonts. A smaller container produces a more compact display.

Padding

Add space between the lyrics and the edges of the lyrics container:
  • Prevents text from touching the sides of the screen.
  • Particularly useful when targeting TVs, which often crop or overscan the edges of the frame.

When singers overlap (Duet)

In Duet mode, if two singers have lines at exactly the same time:
  • Show Both — Each singer stays at their assigned position on screen simultaneously.
  • Merge to All — Overlapping lines switch to a shared “All Singers” style and position.
