The Audio panel lets you control the volume of each audio track in your karaoke and set the playback speed. The mix you configure here is baked into your exported video.

Opening the Audio panel

In the Studio, expand the Audio panel in the sidebar.

Available tracks

Youka separates your uploaded audio into individual stems. Depending on the source, you may see:
  • Instrumental — The music with all vocals removed.
  • Vocals — The original lead singer’s voice.
  • Backing Vocals — Background harmonies, where available.
  • Original — The unprocessed audio exactly as uploaded.

Adjusting volume

Each track has its own volume slider:
  • Drag right to increase the track’s volume.
  • Drag left to decrease it.
  • Click the speaker icon to mute a track completely without moving its slider.

Common configurations

Use this configuration for karaoke events where singers perform without vocal support:
TrackLevel
Instrumental100%
Vocals0% (muted)
Backing Vocals0–50% (optional)
Backing vocals at a low level can add atmosphere without overshadowing the singer.

Playback speed

Use the speed control to slow down or speed up playback:
  • Slower speeds help singers learn difficult or fast passages.
  • The pitch is preserved when you change the speed, so the song does not sound artificially low or high.
The playback speed you set in the Studio affects the exported video. If you want a normal-speed export, return the slider to 1× before exporting.

Use cases

  • Karaoke events — Set vocals to 0% and export with instrumental only.
  • Learning a new song — Add some vocal at 30–50% and slow the speed to 0.75× or 0.8×.
  • Accessible exports — Create one version with vocals and one without using the Versions feature.

Tips

  • Test your mix by playing back the full song before exporting — subtle differences in volume become more noticeable on speakers.
  • Keep vocals low but audible in practice mode; too loud and singers stop trying on their own.
  • Use a separate version for each audio configuration so you can export different mixes from the same project.
