Creating karaoke

Try one of these approaches depending on how far off the sync is:For minor timing issues — use Manual Sync (free):
  1. Open Edit → Manual Sync.
  2. Click the word or line that’s misaligned.
  3. Drag it to the correct position on the timeline, using the audio waveform as a guide.
  4. To nudge a selection earlier or later, press Shift + ← or Shift + →.
For major sync issues — re-sync with AI:
  1. Open Edit → Edit Lyrics and confirm your lyrics are correct.
  2. Select a sync model (e.g., AudioShake Alignment).
  3. Click Save to start a new sync job. This costs ~3–5 credits.
If the lyrics are correct but the timing is completely off, AI re-sync usually gives better results than manual adjustment. If the lyrics themselves are wrong, correct them in Edit Lyrics before re-syncing.
If karaoke creation fails, your credits are automatically refunded — you won’t be charged for the failed attempt. A notification confirms the refund. To recover:
  1. Check that your file is in a supported format (MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A, OGG for audio; MP4, MKV, WebM, AVI, MOV for video).
  2. Try creating the karaoke again.
  3. If it fails repeatedly, contact support@youka.io with the project name and the error message you see.
  1. Confirm your file is in a supported format. Youka accepts: MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A, OGG (audio) and MP4, MKV, WebM, AVI, MOV (video).
  2. If you’re unsure of the format, convert the file to MP3 (audio) or MP4 (video) using a free converter and try again.
  3. Check your internet connection — large files require a stable upload.
  4. Try refreshing the page and uploading again.

Extension

If the Youka Extension isn’t showing as “Connected” in the top-right corner of the browser:
  1. Check that the extension is running by looking for its icon in your system tray.
  2. Restart the extension app from the system tray.
  3. Refresh the Youka Online page in your browser.
  4. Confirm you’re using a supported browser: Chrome, Edge, or Firefox.
The extension must be running before you open Youka Online. If you started the extension after opening the browser tab, refresh the tab to let it detect the connection.
  1. Verify the URL is a valid, publicly accessible video link. Private, age-restricted, or region-locked videos cannot be downloaded.
  2. Try pasting the URL directly from the video platform’s address bar — shortened or shared links can sometimes fail.
  3. Test with a different, publicly available video to confirm whether the issue is with that specific URL or the extension.
  4. Update the extension to the latest version: download the installer from the extension page and run it over your existing installation.

Exporting

Local exports (via the Youka Extension) render on your computer, so speed depends on your CPU and GPU.To speed up a local export:
  1. Reduce the export resolution (try 720p instead of 1080p or 4K).
  2. Select a lower quality preset if available.
  3. Close other demanding applications to free up system resources.
  4. Avoid running multiple exports at the same time.
Cloud exports are handled on Youka’s servers and are not affected by your local hardware.
Local exports are saved to your browser’s default download folder. Check the following locations:
  • Windows: C:\Users\YourName\Downloads
  • macOS: ~/Downloads
  • Linux: ~/Downloads or the folder set in your browser preferences
You can also check your browser’s download history (usually accessible via Ctrl+J or Cmd+J) to find the exact file path.

Lyrics & sync

Auto-transcription can occasionally mishear words, especially in songs with heavy instrumentation or unusual pronunciation. To fix incorrect lyrics:
  1. Open Studio → Edit Lyrics (or Edit → Edit Lyrics inside the project).
  2. Correct the text directly in the lyrics editor.
  3. Save — if you only changed the text without re-syncing, the timing is preserved.
If the timing is also wrong after correcting the text, save the corrected lyrics and then re-sync with your preferred alignment model.
When adding translated lyrics, the number of lines must exactly match the original lyrics. Each line in the translation maps directly to the same-numbered line in the original. To fix a mismatch:
  1. Count the lines in your original lyrics.
  2. Count the lines in your translation.
  3. Adjust the translation so both counts are identical — split or merge lines as needed.
If the line counts don’t match, the sync alignment won’t apply correctly and some lines may appear at the wrong time or not appear at all.

Account & billing

Credits are added to your account immediately after checkout completes. If your balance hasn’t updated:
  1. Refresh the page. The header balance updates on page load.
  2. Click your credit balance to open the credits dialog and see a breakdown by package and expiration date.
  3. If the credits still don’t appear after refreshing, contact support@youka.io with your order confirmation.
Click your credit balance in the header to open the credits dialog. The dialog shows:
  • Each credit package you hold
  • The number of credits in each package
  • The expiration date for each package
Credits are consumed in order of soonest expiration, so your oldest credits are always spent first. If the total still doesn’t match what you expect, contact support@youka.io and include your account email and the approximate date of your last purchase.
