No. The Youka Extension is optional. You can upload audio and video files, create karaoke, edit, and export entirely within the browser without it.Installing the extension adds three extra capabilities:
  • Create karaoke directly from video URLs (such as YouTube links)
  • Search for lyrics automatically from the internet
  • Export videos locally on your computer for free (no credits required)
If processing fails for any reason, your credits are automatically refunded. You’ll see a notification confirming the refund. You can try creating the karaoke again, or contact support if the issue persists.
You have two options:Manual Sync — Go to Edit → Manual Sync. Select the word or line that’s off, then drag it to the correct position on the timeline using the audio waveform as a guide. This is free and doesn’t use credits.Re-sync with AI — Go to Edit → Edit Lyrics, confirm your lyrics are correct, select a sync model, and click Save. This starts a new sync job and costs ~3–5 credits. For minor drift, Manual Sync is usually faster. For major timing issues, AI re-sync tends to give better results.
