No. The Youka Extension is optional. You can upload audio and video files, create karaoke, edit, and export entirely within the browser without it.Installing the extension adds three extra capabilities:
- Create karaoke directly from video URLs (such as YouTube links)
- Search for lyrics automatically from the internet
- Export videos locally on your computer for free (no credits required)

If processing fails for any reason, your credits are automatically refunded. You’ll see a notification confirming the refund. You can try creating the karaoke again, or contact support if the issue persists.

- Click Create Karaoke from the home page.
- Select the From URL tab.
- Paste the YouTube (or other video platform) URL.

How do I fix out-of-sync lyrics?
You have two options:Manual Sync — Go to Edit → Manual Sync. Select the word or line that’s off, then drag it to the correct position on the timeline using the audio waveform as a guide. This is free and doesn’t use credits.Re-sync with AI — Go to Edit → Edit Lyrics, confirm your lyrics are correct, select a sync model, and click Save. This starts a new sync job and costs ~3–5 credits.For minor drift, Manual Sync is usually faster. For major timing issues, AI re-sync tends to give better results.

Yes. When you export a project, you can choose from 720p, 1080p, or 4K resolution. All cloud export resolutions are free — resolution choice doesn’t affect credit usage.

Yes. Cloud exports are free and unlimited at any resolution. If you have the Youka Extension installed, local exports (rendered on your computer) are also free and don’t require credits or an internet connection for rendering.

What's the difference between a project and the library?
Projects are where you create and edit karaoke. A project contains your audio, lyrics, sync data, and style settings. You work in the Studio editor inside a project.Library is your collection of finished karaoke videos. Once you’re happy with a project, you can play it back from the Library. Library playback is free and doesn’t use credits.
