# Remote Control

> Control karaoke playback from another device

Use your phone or tablet as a remote control for your karaoke session. Perfect for parties where your computer is connected to a TV.

## What You'll Achieve

Set up remote control so you or your friends can:

* Browse and queue songs from a phone
* Control playback (play, pause, skip)
* See what's currently playing
* Add songs to the queue

## Setting Up Remote Control

On your main device (the one playing karaoke):

1. Go to **Library**
2. Click the **Remote** button in the player area
3. Toggle **Allow remote control** on
4. A QR code and session code appear

## Connecting from Another Device

On your phone or tablet:

1. Scan the QR code, or
2. Go to the displayed URL and enter the session code

You'll be asked to enter a nickname so others know who's controlling playback.

## Remote Features

From the remote interface, you can:

* **Play/Pause** — Control playback
* **Skip** — Jump to the next song
* **Seek** — Move forward or backward in the current song
* **Queue** — Browse and add songs
* **Volume** — Adjust the volume

## Sharing with Friends

Share the session code with friends at your karaoke party:

1. They visit the join URL on their phones
2. Enter the session code
3. Now everyone can add songs to the queue

All connected devices see:

* The current song playing
* The queue of upcoming songs
* Who's connected to the session

## Ending a Session

To stop remote access:

1. On your main device, go to the Remote settings
2. Toggle **Allow remote control** off

This disconnects all remote users.

## Tips for Karaoke Parties

* Connect your computer to a TV via HDMI
* Enable remote control before guests arrive
* Share the QR code on a second screen or print it out
* Let guests queue their own songs from their phones
