# Set Up Duet Mode

> Assign singers to each line for duet karaoke

Create duet karaokes where different singers have their own colors and positions.

## What Is Duet Mode?

Duet mode lets you:

* Assign lines to different singers
* Give each singer their own color scheme
* Position singers in different areas of the screen
* Handle overlapping parts

## Opening the Duet Editor

1. Open your project in the Studio
2. Click **Duet Editor** in the header menu

## Assigning Singers

In the Duet Editor, you'll see all your lyrics with a singer selector for each line.

1. Click on a line
2. Choose the singer: **Singer 1**, **Singer 2**, or **Both**
3. Repeat for all lines

### Quick Selection

* Click the play button next to a line to hear it
* This helps you identify who's singing

### Bulk Selection

* Use the **All** button to assign all lines to a specific singer
* Then adjust individual lines as needed

## Number of Singers

By default, duet mode supports 2 singers. You can add more:

1. In the Layout panel, find **Number of Singers**
2. Select 2, 3, or more singers
3. Each singer can have unique styling

## Styling Each Singer

Each singer can have their own look:

1. Go to the **Text Style** panel
2. Select the singer from the dropdown
3. Customize:
   * Font and size
   * Active/inactive colors
   * Outline and effects

## When Singers Overlap

When lines overlap (both singers singing at the same time):

* **Show Both** — Each singer displays at their own position
* **Merge to All** — Overlapping lines use a combined "All Singers" style

Configure this in the **Layout** panel.

## Singer Positions

In Duet layout, singers appear in different screen positions:

* **Singer 1** — Left or top area
* **Singer 2** — Right or bottom area

Adjust positions in the Layout panel:

* **Horizontal** — Side by side
* **Vertical** — Stacked top and bottom

## Example: Classic Duet

For a typical male/female duet:

1. Set Singer 1 to blue tones
2. Set Singer 2 to pink tones
3. Use horizontal positioning
4. Assign verses to respective singers
5. Set choruses to "Both"

## Saving and Previewing

Changes save automatically. Use the video preview to:

* Verify correct singer assignments
* Check that colors are distinguishable
* Confirm overlapping parts look right

## Going Back to Single Mode

To disable duet mode:

1. Go to **Layout** panel
2. Change **Layout Type** to Karaoke, Scrolling, or Single

Your singer assignments are saved if you switch back to Duet later.
