# Create a project from synced lyrics

> Import KFN, synchronized MP3, LRC, SRT, or VTT timing into an editable Youka project

Use **Create from Synced Lyrics** when you already have timed karaoke material and want to continue editing it in Youka. The import creates a normal project that you can customize in Studio.

## What you can import

* A **KFN** file, including compatible KaraFun KFN files
* An **MP3** containing synchronized ID3 lyrics
* An audio or video file paired with a synchronized **LRC**, **SRT**, or **VTT** file

Supported media includes AAC, AVI, M4A, MKV, MOV, MP3, MP4, OGG, WAV, and WebM. Media can be up to **300 MB** and **20 minutes** long. A separate timing file can be up to **5 MB**.

  Plain lyrics without timestamps cannot be imported through this workflow. Use [Create your first karaoke](/en/web/create-karaoke) when your lyrics still need to be synchronized.

## Import the project

<Steps>
  <Step title="Choose your media">
    Open **Create from Synced Lyrics** and select a KFN, audio, or video file.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add timing when needed">
    For regular audio or video, choose the matching LRC, SRT, or VTT file. An MP3 with synchronized ID3 lyrics does not need a separate timing file.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Check the project title">
    Youka uses the filename as the initial title. Change it before importing if needed.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Confirm your music rights">
    Confirm that you own the required rights, the material is public domain, or you have permission to use it.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Create the project">
    Select **Create Project**. Youka validates the files and opens the imported project in Studio.

Creating the project from synchronized files does not use creation credits. Optional AI processing or later exports can still use credits according to the action you choose.

## Continue editing in Studio

The imported project uses Youka's default style preset. You can change the background, lyric layout, fonts, colors, text, and timing just like any other project.

You can monitor longer imports from **Activity**. If validation fails, Activity keeps the failure details so you can correct the files and try again.

  KFN is the supported compatibility format. Other proprietary karaoke formats are not currently accepted unless you first convert them to supported media and synchronized lyrics.
