# Video URL to Karaoke

> Turn any online video URL into a karaoke track

Paste a video URL from YouTube or another supported site and Youka downloads the audio, removes the vocals, and syncs the lyrics.

## What you'll achieve

A finished karaoke project built from a hosted video, with:

* The instrumental separated from the original vocals
* Lyrics detected and synced to the music
* A video ready to play, edit, or export

    Open the video on your preferred site and copy the URL from the address bar.
  </Step>

    In Youka, click **Create New**, then **Create from URL**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Paste the URL">Paste the link into the URL field.</Step>

  <Step title="Start the job">
    Click **Create Karaoke**. Youka downloads the audio, separates vocals, and
    syncs lyrics.
  </Step>
</Steps>

Processing usually takes 2–5 minutes. You can watch progress in the **Jobs** tab.

## What happens next

Once the job finishes, your new project opens with:

* The instrumental track ready to sing over
* Lyrics synced to the audio
* A default karaoke video you can preview and edit

## After conversion

You can refine the project from the Studio:

* [Edit lyrics](/en/desktop/edit-lyrics) to fix transcription errors
* [Fix lyrics sync](/en/desktop/fix-lyrics-sync) to adjust timing
* [Change the background](/en/desktop/change-background-video) or style

## Tips for best results

<Tip>
  Use files or URLs you have the rights to use. Clean, high-quality audio with
  clear vocals gives the best separation and transcription. Live recordings and
  DJ mixes are noisier and may need manual fixes.
</Tip>

* Choose the highest-quality version of the video when multiple are available
* Songs with clear vocals transcribe more accurately
* Longer songs take proportionally longer to process
