# Trim a Karaoke Video

> Cut the start, end, or middle of a karaoke project

Trim removes unwanted sections from the start, end, or middle of a project. The original files stay intact — Youka creates a new trimmed version alongside them.

## Steps to trim

<Steps>

  </Step>

  <Step title="Preview">

  </Step>

  <Step title="Apply the trim">
    Click **Trim** to create the new version. Progress appears in the **Jobs** tab.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Fine-tuning the trim

For frame-accurate edits:

* Enter exact timestamps in the **Start** and **End** input fields
* Use the waveform to align with audio peaks
* The selected region stays highlighted while you adjust

## What gets trimmed

Trimming creates new copies of:

* The video file
* All audio stems (vocals, instrumental, backing vocals)
* The original audio
* The lyrics alignment, re-timed to match the new start

<Note>
  The original files are preserved. You can always delete the trimmed version
  and try a different region.
</Note>

## Tips

* Preview before committing to confirm the cut lands where you expect
* Use trim to remove long intros, outros, or unwanted middle sections
* Check the **Jobs** tab for trimming progress on long songs
